Läkemedelsbolaget Quiapeg Pharmaceuticals har tecknat ett optionsavtal med det kinesiska läkemedelsbolaget Chengdu Shengnuo Biopharm
som betalar 200 000 dollar, motsvarande 2,0 miljoner kronor, i utbyte mot att under en begränsad tid få utvärdera en egentillverkad läkemedelssubstans tillsammans med en av Quiapegs frisättningsbara aktiverade PEGs från teknologiplattformen Uni-Qleaver. Det framgår av ett pressmeddelande.
Affärsuppgörelsen består av två delar. Den första delen utgörs av ett optionsavtal genom vilket SNBio erhåller en forskningslicens för att under en begränsad period utvärdera en specifik frisättningsbar aktiverad PEG i pre-kliniska försök.
Optionsavtalet avser en av shengnuoBio:s egentillverkade läkemedelssubstanser. Efter optionsperioden har SNBio möjlighet att inleda förhandlingar avseende en exklusiv kommersiell licens för Kina för användning av Quiapegs teknologiplattform Uni-Qleaver tillsammans med den specifika läkemedelssubstansen. Optionsavtalet stipulerar att en sådan kommersiell licens ska innehålla sedvanliga villkor som exempelvis up-front betalning, milstolpsbetalningar och royalties.
Den andra delen av uppgörelsen innebär att Quiapeg under hösten 2020 kan köpa en större mängd liraglutid tillverkad av SNBio enligt god tillverkningssed för det egna läkemedelsprojektet QPG-1029, peg-liraglutid. Inköpet kommer att göras till ett mycket fördelaktigt pris och mängden kommer både att räcka till att avsluta återstående pre-kliniska studier och att genomföra den första kliniska prövningen, det vill säga så långt som Quiapeg har för avsikt att driva QPG-1029 innan projektet utlicensieras.
Priset som förhandlats fram innebär en väsentlig kostnadsbesparing för Quiapeg – Det är glädjande att Quiaopeg nu har slutit ett optionsavtal för den kinesiska marknaden vilket bekräftar intresset för teknologiplattform Uni-Qleaver och den kommersiella potentialen.
